About Us
Our residents are thrilled to welcome you to Marina Drive, a vibrant and close-knit community within the Oak Harbor Planned Unit Development (PUD). The Marina Drive of Oak Harbor Property Owners Association (MDOHPOA) represents 124 homes, with most properties along Marina Drive proudly part of our association. While a few condos and private residences at the beginning of our street have their own associations and are not MDOHPOA members, we all share a strong neighborhood spirit.
Life here offers plenty to enjoy right outside your door. Within walking distance, you’ll find a yacht club, some of Slidell’s best restaurants, a fire station, and a sheriff’s office. Across the canal, you'll find a full service marina with fuel, bait, rental lifts, sand volleyball courts, and another restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining and live music. Boat parades pass by our homes several times a year, adding festive charm to our waterfront lifestyle. Looking ahead, a new Rouses supermarket/retail complex and additional retail shops are planned for 2025/2026. In the meantime, we have a shopping center just 10 minutes away that makes daily errands easy.
In 2024, our water treatment center received a multimillion-dollar upgrade, ensuring clean and safe water for all residents. Our deep-water canals connect directly to Lake Pontchartrain, making it easy to fish, crab, shrimp, or boat without ever leaving home. Homes along Grand Lagoon (odd-numbered addresses) enjoy stunning water views and access without the upkeep of private docks and bulkheads, while canal-side homes (even-numbered addresses) feature private docks, boat lifts, and bulkheads.
Wildlife is part of what makes Marina Drive truly special. Pelicans visit in cooler months, while blue herons, ducks, opossums, and other small animals are here year-round. They help keep pests in check, and regular aerial and street spraying keeps mosquitos to a minimum.
If you’re looking for a quiet, friendly, and well-cared-for community, Marina Drive is a wonderful place to call home.
